Do it scared.

Have you ever been in situation where you feel afraid and anxious, but you have something to complete and you have to work through the fear and anxiety to do it?

Social Venture Partner’s SEED20 OnStage event happened in April 2023 and Money Magnets Club was fortunate to be selected as one of the 10 nonprofits to participate. It was a wonderful opportunity for MMC’s Executive Director, Alexandra, to be coached on sharing the message and innovative solutions that the organization provides…in just 3 minutes…for a chance to win $20,000!

MMC ended up taking home the Community Vote prize of $1,000. With all the good that the experience was, it was scary to try and communicate an idea in a way that was engaging, short and sweet, but had substance, and in front of hundreds of people. AND preparing as much as possible, channeling Beyonce level confidence, and showing up to get it done was all that can be done, while nerves may still let you know they’re in the background. Hundreds of people heard our message and we made some new relationships as a result, in addition to earning some funding support. The moral of the story is, as humans, we have a range of emotions, including feeling scared, and often many great things are on the other side of doing something that may seem scary at first. Sometimes, you just have to do it scared, have the experience and learn what it’s like so the next time it will be less and less scary.
