  • Kidpreneurs-in-Training Program

    We promote financial savvy with literacy, math, career exploration, social capital building, and economic empowerment components in fun, developmentally appropriate, and culturally integrated ways through our signature program series. This series is a six-module series that is offered primarily through out-of-school time that works to improve economic mobility through partnerships with anchor institutions facilitated in a developmentally appropriate way for elementary students. Through multi-modal, interactive activities, young ones as early as five years old:

    1. Get an introduction to Money Magnets Club and its approach

    2. Learn about themselves and hear from guest entrepreneurs to learn different ways that entrepreneurship can look

    3. Consider what might make a good business idea

    4. Explore the history and purpose of money and budgeting

    5. Make a plan for a business in order to be able to try it out if they desire

    6. Support students' communicating about their business idea through a confidence-building pitch event.

    Students can receive a $25 investment for completing elements of the program at its conclusion.

  • moneyTRAIN

    Money Magnets Club’s newest service, moneyTRAIN (which stands for teaching responsibility with assets and income navigation) is offered out-of-school time. This program works to improve kids’ economic mobility through education about entrepreneurship and financial literacy for kids and their families, by partnering with adult-serving organizations. The program focuses on two-generation learning and facilitates developmentally appropriate experiences for kids and for adults to help kids to learn. Our guest speakers are local financial services professionals and entrepreneurs, including kidpreneurs, to facilitate kids' exposure to the wide range of possibilities and ways that entrepreneurship can look. moneyTRAIN is customized to the logistics, topics and cadence of the adult-serving program to create continuity and learning exchange between kids and adults.

  • Internships

    High school and college students will have the unique opportunity to enhance knowledge and application of personal finance information and build financial literacy acumen, while making a positive impact on the lives of Charlotte, NC elementary school students. Through engaging sessions, interns will receive pragmatic training useful to their holistic development and tailored experiences to set and suit their own goals.

    There are some paid internship opportunities through our partner, Gardhouse or through our Financial Literacy Facilitator Corps internship program.

  • FINLIT KIDS & FINLIT FAMILIES

    Both FinLit Kids and FinLit Families are our one-time, teaser, programs that give insight into the array of programs that we offer and often happen as a carve out in conjunction with larger community events. This gives young participants and their responsible adults connectivity to financial services resources and information and a mini financial literacy lesson and/or entrepreneurship exercise that promotes interest, fun, and learning in the subsequent opportunities and topics at hand.
